As one of the most read battle rages on in the courts about Microsoft's trade practices here we are about to see another great Operating System. Yes, the Windows 2000. I tried the beta 2 here. And was quite impressed with what i saw. Installation gave me no big troubles. You can follow this link, www.microsoft.com/windows to read the full story. The real advantages of Windows2000 are evident on the server side with a whole range of enhancements. The server comes in three versions, Win2k server, Win2k Advanced Server and the DCS. The DCS (Data Center Server) supports 32 processors and a whopping 64GB of RAM! On the whole Windows2000 is the OS for the new millennium. No wonder IBM has decided to move on to Win2K in a big way. Big Blue is moving all its employees and is installing some 300,000 copies of the OS when it is launched.

NEWS - LINUX 6.0

For those of you who hate Windows, here is for the first time an alternative that actually works. Once confined to the geek community, this new OS is making inroads into the PC community. But don't expect this to be anything close to Windows, although it does a good job of being an Operating System. Newbies are better off getting into Windows before trying LINUX. However the most interesting fact about LINUX still remains. The open source and the wilderness. The fact that you don't have to pay for anything you use. I am new to LINUX. And I like this OS. But I confess I am still a big fan of Windows.
